2025 was an outstanding year for the Warshawsky Law Firm. To all of my clients who entrusted me with their cases, thank you! You have my sincerest gratitude.
Our 2025 highlights included:
- Successfully defending a client who has dedicated her life to working with disabled persons from unfounded charges and preventing her name from being placed on the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services abuse and neglect registry, which would have destroyed her reputation and career. After a two-day hearing against a strident agency attorney, we obtained a favorable ruling from the Hearing Officer, which was affirmed by the Commissioner.
- Obtaining a landmark state court victory under the New York Equal Pay Law, which was extensively amended in 2015 to provide much stronger guarantees to women of equal pay for equal work (expanded to all employees in 2019). After six years of fighting in federal and state courts, we obtained a ruling for our client holding her employer liable for underpaying her since 2017.
- Successfully arguing an appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in a COVID-19 vaccine accommodation case that had been thrown out by the district court on the grounds that the plaintiffs lacked a sincerely held religious objection to the vaccines. In an important decision that will help other employees with these claims, the Second Circuit reversed with respect to one plaintiff, reaffirming basic principles of summary judgment law and clarifying how these principles apply to cases involving individual religious beliefs.
- Obtaining more than $1.5 million in settlements and judgments for clients.
The Warshawsky Law Firm continues to be one of the leading law firms in New York representing employees who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19 vaccine mandates. In the past year, we filed several new vaccine lawsuits, defeated several employer motions, and settled several cases on favorable terms. We have numerous vaccine cases still pending and anticipate further successes in 2026.
In addition to our vaccine cases, we are handling a wide variety of employment cases, including a sexual harassment case for an executive at a national corporation, a sex discrimination and retaliation case against a local college, a disability discrimination case against a major online retailer, and a wrongful termination case involving a law firm associate (defense). Although our main focus is on employment law, we have a broad litigation practice, including two wrongful death cases, a false arrest case (defense), and a medical malpractice case (defense). Along with our litigation practice, in the past year we provided counseling and advice to dozens of clients regarding employment contracts, severance agreements, and dealing with workplace problems.
At the Warshawsky Law Firm, we find great satisfaction in practicing law and helping our clients achieve justice for themselves and their families. In 2025 we won some tremendous victories. We believe that 2026 will be even better!
Very best wishes for a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2026!
